Moncus Park is hosting a slew of events for Women’s History Month | News


Corey Frank, Events & Marketing Assistant from Moncus Park, joined NEws15 at noon to share all the amazing things happening this month at Moncus Park.

Moncus Park is pleased to announce its Women’s History Month programming made possible through the support of

Women’s Foundation and Women of Wisdom. Programs run throughout the month of March to commemorate,

educate and inspire girls and women in our Acadian community.

“The Women’s Foundation is thrilled to bring health and wellness programs to Moncus Park for women,

families and children. In order to create a positive and healthy impact on our community, we believe it is truly

takes partnerships like this to make a difference,” said Sally Sabandith, Women’s Foundation Marketing

director. “Thank you to Corey Frank for facilitating our partnership and making this possible. Our team is

delighted to continue supporting Moncus Park and its mission.

For over 40 years, the Woman’s Foundation has been the premier health and wellness education center

a variety of groups in Acadiana. The Foundation has two targeted education pathways – community health

and wellness programs offered to families and children as well as accredited programs and activities for

doctors and health professionals.

Community programs focus on reducing obesity rates, supporting teens through social issues,

reduce STI/STD rates and reduce teen pregnancy rates. Programs include the Body Talk series, Safe Sitter,

Woman’s Foundation also offers a variety of accredited learning activities available to doctors, nurses,

Women of Wisdom is an organization made up of Acadiana business leaders, not for profit

professionals, educators and community organizers who have come together to build on their strengths to

Collective action. From healthcare initiatives to early education efforts, and from economic development to the arts

As a non-profit organization, all donations to Moncus Park are tax deductible. Unlike other parks across

Lafayette Parish, Moncus Park does not receive local tax dollars for maintenance or operations and is not

included in the annual budget of Lafayette Consolidated Government. This not-for-profit park conservation model is the

first of its kind in Acadiana, and a growing trend across the country. We invite the community to celebrate
