Dubai: The government of Dubai on Saturday announced the listing of Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest provider of district cooling services, in the Dubai Financial Market (DFM).
In a series of tweets, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Governor of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, today (Saturday) announced Empower’s listing on the Dubai financial market ( DFM), claiming that this decision falls under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
Established in 2003 by Royal Decree, Empower has grown its facilities from a single temporary factory in the Dubai International Financial Center to operating in 65 factories representing 79% market share in the United Arab Emirates and serving over 45,000 customers.
Empower is currently providing its services to world class projects such as Business Bay, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Dubai Healthcare City, Palm Jumeirah, Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai Production City, Discovery Gardens, Dubai Design District, and has several ongoing developments.
With 84 factory rooms and a network of more than 350 kilometers, Empower operates more than 1.640 million tonnes of refrigeration and serves more than 140,000 businesses and individuals in more than 1,252 buildings. Empower employs more than 845 professionals in its offices and factories in Dubai, and holds more than 76% of the market share of the district cooling sector of Dubai.
In 2021, Empower signed an agreement to acquire district cooling plants affiliated with Dubai International Airport, with a total value of Dh 1.1 billion. DFM).
