â¢ STEAM Grab-n-Go Bags: Drop by every week and pick up an activity bag to let your creativity run wild.
â¢ Story Walk Windows: Stroll past the library windows to discover do-it-yourself stories and activities.
â¢ Furry Friends Story Time: Enjoy a fun and furry story hour with special guest readers Angela, Hampton Social Services Coordinator; and Parker and his dog handler on August 12 from 4:30 pm to 5:15 pm Parker will be on hand as a very attentive listener. The event is aimed at children of all ages. Registration is requested through the HCL website or call the library.
â¢ Murder by the Book: A Mystery Book Discussion on Pines (Wayward Pines # 1) by Blake Crouch will take place on August 18th at 6:30 pm. The group will meet outside at the Rotary Pavilion. Call the library to request a copy of the book. Books are no longer available at the lending counter. All those who are interested are welcome to join. Be prepared to wear a mask or stay 6 feet apart.
â¢ CheckMate! A summer chess club is scheduled for August 18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for children aged 5 to 12. The game could last longer depending on participation and interest. Join the event for a fun, informative and interactive game. Whether you are a beginner or have been playing for years, there is always something new to learn. All skill levels are welcome. Registration is appreciated but not necessary.
â¢ News and Views is back at 1 pm from September 12 to November 3. The popular chat group will meet in the Adult Lounge to discuss everything from space travel to the Steelers winning the Super Bowl.
â¢ The library will be closed September 4 for Community Day and September 6 for Labor Day. Enjoy your vacation weekend.
The Hampton Township Farmers Market is open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through October 13.
It offers local products, honey, baked goods, spices and a variety of other items.
Food trucks will be on site several times throughout the season, with notices posted on the township website.
The Farmer’s Market is located in the Hampton Community Park at 3101 McCully Road.
